Sponsorship in the United States

Children International’s United States sponsorship program is located in Little Rock, Arkansas. It operates as a joint effort between Children International and the University of Arkansas at Little Rock (UALR) known as Share America, which functions primarily as an after-school program and works with over 30 partner organizations, including the Arkansas Department of Health and the Arkansas Children’s Hospital.

Share America provides vital services such as medical and dental screenings, after-school tutoring programs, summer camps, school uniforms, youth activities, college-prep courses, and computer training and GED classes for adults, a service that helps parents of sponsored children improve their job skills and increase their earning power.

One of Share America’s greatest achievements has been the establishment of the Future Smiles Dental Clinic, which provides dental screenings to elementary-aged children. It also offers fluoride treatments and sealants.
