Culture

There is no one particular culture that can be identified as “the” American culture. Rather, the culture of the United States varies by region and ethnic influences.

Musical styles are also very diverse. Classical, rhythm & blues, rock ’n’ roll, country & western, bluegrass, jazz, Tejano, gospel, soul, polkas…everyone is sure to find something to suit their taste.

Americans also tend to be avid sports fans. Baseball, American football and basketball are the primary spectator sports, but soccer and hockey are increasing in popularity. Also popular are outdoor sports such as swimming, canoeing, hunting and fishing.
