A trip to Colombia could be infectious…in a good way.
From natural attractions that include unspoiled
snow-capped mountains, crystalline lakes, wonderful and relaxing beach resorts, jungles jam-packed with wildlife, to inspiring (and fun) music, street performances and cities filled with history – and centuries-old buildings – there’s no place quite like it.
A visit to your sponsored child is sure to be inspiring and will no doubt bolster your affection for this lovely country…and leave you with an even stronger friendship and memories to cherish for a lifetime.
If your child lives in Cartagena, spend a few extra days enjoying the old city, where you can sit on a
flower-covered balcony and refuel on some rich Colombian coffee, while watching street performers dance.

If planning a trip to Barranquilla, shoot for going during Carnival, a four-day celebration that
precedes Ash Wednesday. But be prepared to stay for a few days. The city comes to a standstill while public dances, musical processions and masquerade parades clog the streets and shut down businesses.
Whatever you do, don’t forget your camera, your smile and your best pair of dancing shoes. |
