700 children participate in art contest 

 
 



Children participate in art contest Some 700 sponsored boys, girls and youth from the Children International-Programa Amigo de los Niños in the Dominican Republic took a training workshop with the purpose of participating in the art contest held every year by the charity, this year’s theme being “My Friends and I”.

Bayaguana, Mendoza, Los Tres Brazos, Tanquecitos, La Caleta, El Flumen, Cienfuegos y Mao were the communities where these young artists showed off their talent and created the works of art with which they will participate in the International Art Contest held in Kansas City, Missouri.

These are the winning children: In the ages 4-7 category, Crismailin Martinez (Flumen), Anthony Nuñez and Feliz Tapia (both from Mendoza); in the ages 8-11 category, Keila Abad (Boca Chica), Suleika Disla (Mao) and José Ferreras (Mendoza); and in the ages 12-16 category, Lissett de los Santos (Caleta), Jander Santos and Michael ruis (both from Bayaguana).

Francisca Solis, Education Program Coordinator for the Children International agency in the Dominican Republic, was pleased by the performance that the Dominican Republic traditionally has had in this contest.
