Out From the Shadows
To better understand the hardships impoverished families in Guatemala face, CI staff member Javier Cárcamo immersed himself in the lives of
the Junay family. What he learned is a case study in both heartbreak and hope.
Agatha’s Rage
Children International staff in Guatemala rushed to the aid of children and families in the aftermath of Tropical Storm Agatha. Now they’re putting their hearts and souls into rebuilding lives and communities.
An Unjust Storm
Justa López and her neighbors thought they’d taken every precaution to protect their town from severe storms, but Agatha was unlike anything they’d imagined. “We started running and running and the water, full of mud, followed, breaking everything in its wake,” Justa recounts.
